Among the 415,000 youth in the foster care system nationwide, only 46% will earn a high school diploma or GED, and less than 3% will obtain a bachelor’s degree. The Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) requires that all students have access to a well-rounded education that will prepare them for college and career.

By 2020, 65% of all jobs will require some postsecondary education or training. But are students graduating college and career ready to meet this demand?
