Career Clusters: Forecasting Demand for High School Through College Jobs, 2008-2018

This report provides projections of job demand as well as skill and educational requirements through the year 2018 for jobs that fall into each of the 16 technical education and career clusters. The report also includes wage data to help identify high-wage clusters and occupations. Report findings include: jobs for workers with only a high school diploma or less are declining; 29 percent of all job openings will require either some college or an Associate's degree by 2018; the fastest growing clusters also have the highest concentration of workers with postsecondary education, and how a Bachelor's degree or higher helps guarantee access to jobs in all of the career clusters.
